Abstract
Materijali imaju široku uporabu u svim granama strojarstva, stoga je vrlo bitno proučavati njihova svojstva i promjene. Mogu se tretirati na razne načine, npr. obraĎivati kemijski, toplinski, itd. Svi postupci obrade imaju za rezultat neku od promjena svojstava odreĎenog obraĎivanog strojnog dijela. Moţe se mijenjati kemijska struktura materijala, kao i dimenzije i tekstura materijala. U ovom području najviše se postupcima obrade podvrgavaju metali i legure, koji su jedna od osnovnih skupina materijala. Promjene mogu biti vidljive na osnovnim svojstvima metala koja su kristalna struktura, dobra električna i toplinska vodljivost, čvrstoća i ţilavost te metalni sjaj. Cilj je poboljšati odreĎeno svojstvo do traţene razine, što je u ovom primjeru i pokazano, poboljšala se tvrdoća čelika indukcijskim kaljenjem.
Abstract (english)
All kinds of materials are widely used in mechanical engineering in general so it's very important to study their characteristics and their changes. They can be treated in various ways, such as chemical treating, heat treating, etc. All of the processing methods have the result of changing characteristics of the specified workpiece that is treated. The changes can be manifested on chemical structure of the material, as well as dimensions and the texture of the given material. In this domain, materials that are mainly treated with some processing methods are metals and alloys, which are both included in one of the main groups of materials. Changes could be noticable among main characteristics of metals, which are: crystal structure, good electrical and thermal conductivity, solidity and toughness and metal sheen. The goal is to improve a specified characteristic to the required level, what is shown in this example, hardness of steel is improved by induction hardening.
