Abstract
Autotransplantacija zuba može se definirati kao transplantacija retiniranih, impaktiranih ili izniklih zubi s jedne lokacije u zubnom luku na drugu kod iste osobe i to u alveolu ekstrahiranog zuba ili u kirurški pripremljeno područje. Nezreli zubi su poželjniji kao donorski zubi jer još imaju otvoreni apeks koji omogućuje da zub ostane vitalan. Naime, otvoreni apeks je preduvijet za daljni rast korijena i cijeljenje peridontalnog ligamenta nakon transplantacije. Autotransplantacija je u strogo indiciranim slučajevima metoda koja može nadopuniti i poboljšati ortodontsko liječenje. Brojna su istraživanja dokazala prednosti autotransplantacije, njihovu uspješnost i stopu preživljavanja transplantiranih zubi. Iako su indikacije za autotransplantaciju vrlo uske, trebalo bi je uzeti u obzir kao metodu izbora u pacijenata s nedostatkom zuba.
Abstract (english)
Autotransplantation of teeth can be defined as the transplantation of embedded, impacted, or erupted teeth from one site to another in the same individual either into extraction sites or surgically prepared sockets. Immature teeth are preferred as donor teeth because of their open apices which allow the tooth to remain vital. In fact, an open apex is a prerequisite for continued root growth and periodontal healing after transplantation. Autotransplantation is a method which can supplement and enhance ortodontic treatment in cases which comply with the strict indications. Studies have clearly demonstrated the benefits of autotransplantation, their high sucess rates, and survival rates. Even though indications for autotransplantation are narrow, it should still be considered a choice of treatment in patients with missing teeth.
