Abstract
Patološki procesi koji zahvaćaju n. facialis manifestiraju se parezom ili paralizom mimičnih mišića, ali i drugim dodatnim simptomima ovise o mjestu oštećenja samoga živca. Razlikujemo centralnu i perifernu parezu n. facialisa. Centralna pareza nastaje kao posljedica supranuklearnog oštećenja. Obuhvaća donji dio lica na kontralateralnoj strani. Periferna pareza je posljedica nuklearnog ili infranuklearnog oštećenja, a zahvaća kompletnu mimičnu muskulaturu ipsilateralno. U liječenju oštećenja n. facialisa potrebna je suradnja stomatologa i neurologa, a postavljanje rane dijagnoze povećava mogućnost bržeg i potpunog oporavka pacijenta.
Abstract (english)
Pathological processes which engage facial nerve manifest in paresis or paralysis of mimic muscles and other simptoms which depend on localisation of the lesion. There is central and perifer paresis of facial nerve. Central paresis is caused by supranuclear lesion and it reflects on mimic muscles of opposit side. Perifer paresis is a result of nuclear or supranuclear lesion and all mimic muscles of same side are effected. Cooperation between neurologist and dentist is necesary for treatment of oral symptoms. Early diagnosis and treatment increase probability of total recovery.
