Avulsion of a tooth that occurs when the tooth is completely knocked out of its socket must receive immediate treatment to allow easy replantation and healing. Analysing different aspects of emergency treatment of tooth avulsion, this thesis emphasises proper and timely treatment. The first part discusses traumatic events that result in avulsion and the epidemiology of the injury, including factors that lead to it and its incidence in the population, especially children and youths. The thesis then goes on to discuss the crucial first actions after avulsion, including picking up the avulsed tooth, looking for professional dental help, and evaluating different storage options like milk, saline, and appropriate solutions for cells of the periodontal ligament. The body of the thesis focuses on clinical guidelines: for replanting an avulsed tooth, such as the assessment parameters, management approaches, and medications applied in preventing infection and promoting healing. Last of all, the thesis outlines steps in enhancing the emergency management of the avulsed tooth and calls for public awareness and placing avulsion management within the first aid curriculum. In doing so, the thesis helps to improve results for this special population of dental trauma patients and, as a result, advance oral health and well-being.
