Abstract
Rickettsova bioprogresivna tehnika fiksna je ortodontska tehnika koja koristi lagane sile pri pomicanju zubi. Za pomake zuba rabi se četvrtasta žica u bravicama sa četvrtastim slotovima, a bravice su pričvršćene na prefabriciranim prstenovima. Prstenuju se svi zubi. Najznačajnije karakteristike tehnike su mogućnost korištenja u vrijeme mješovite denticije, korištenje utility luka u kombinaciji sa segmentiranim lukovima, te specifična kefalometrijska analiza koja se radi zbog uspostavljanja plana terapije, a koja se naziva 'Visual treatment objective' (VTO). Naziv bioprogresivna, tehnika je dobila zbog postupnog uključenja pojedinih skupina zuba u terapiju, te zbog određenog redoslijeda terapijskih zahvata.
Abstract (english)
Bioprogressive technique by Ricketts is one of the fixed orthodontic techniques that uses light forces in order to move teeth. For teeth movement square shaped wire in square shaped slots is applied and brackets are soldered on prefabricated bands. Bands are placed on all teeth. The main characteristics of the technique are the possibility of treatment in mixed dentition, usage of the utility arch combined with segmented arches and specific cephalometric analysis called 'Visual treatment objective' (VTO) which is done in treatment planning. The technique is called bioprogressive, because different teeth groups are included in the therapy gradually and the order of treatment procedures is defined.
