Abstract
Zubna caklina svakodnevno je izložena tvarima koje na njoj mogu izazvati različite promjene. Jedna od takvih promjena je i vanjsko obojenje. Kromogene tvari se na zubnu caklinu vežu ili talože mehanizmima koji nisu još u potpunosti objašnjeni, što predstavlja problem u njihovom razumijevanju i terapiji. Najbolju etiološku klasifikaciju ponudio je Nathoo, koji pigmentirane naslage dijeli u 3 tipa, ovisno o načinu vezanja na zubnu površinu. Naslage se mogu podijeliti po boji, lokalizaciji, dobi, spolu, oralnoj higijeni i drugim kriterijima. One mogu biti posljedica korištenja nekih lijekova npr. oralnih antiseptika kao što je klorheksidin koji uzrokuje smeđe pigmentacije. Također mogu biti povezane uz profesiju, pa postoje i tzv. metalne pigmentacije prisutne kod radnika u raznim metalnim industrijama Faktori koji mogu utjecati na nastanak pigmentiranih zubnih naslaga su: oralna higijena, slina, hrana, piće, loše navike i flora usne šupljine. Te naslage predstavljaju estetski problem, uzrokuju nezadovoljstvo pacijenta i od nas zahtijevaju efikasnu terapiju. U tu svrhu bit će katkad potrebno uz mehaničko čišćenje primijeniti i kemijske metode uklanjanja naslaga ( izbjeljivanje ). Ne smije se zanemariti ni važnost prevencije koja jednostavnim postupcima i savjetima olakšava muke i pacijentu i stomatologu.
Abstract (english)
Dental enamel is on the daily basis exposed to substances that can cause various changes on it. One of these changes is extrinsic staining. Chromogenic materials are adhering or adsorbed to the dental surface by mechanisms that are not yet well understood, which present a problem in their therapy and understanding. Maybe the best aetiological classification was given by Nathoo, who has divided these discolorations into 3 types, according to the mechanisms of their bonding to the tooth surface. Extrinsic stains can also be divided by colour, location, age, sex, oral hygiene and other criteria. They can be caused by prolonged use of oral antiseptics such as chlorhexidine that causes brownish discolorations. They can also be connected to profession therefore there are so called metallic stains evident in industrial workers. Factors that can influence the development of extrinsic stains are: oral hygiene, saliva, nutrients, habits and oral flora. Extrinsic stains represent aesthetic problem that cause displeasure in patients, and acquire from us efficiency in therapy. They may require mechanical, as well as chemical methods of stain removal. The importance of prevention must not be forgotten for it can save lots of trouble to patients and dentists with its simple procedures and advices.
