The harmfulness of pine bark beetles is conditioned by the rise in temperature and the change in climatic conditions, which have a favorable effect on all bark beetles of the Mediterranean area, including the species Orthotomicus erosus and Ips sexdentatus. In the area of JP Hrvatske šume d.o.o. monitoring of pine bark beetles was established in order to follow the dynamics of the population. The pheromone monitoring system, its purpose and how it is implemented are defined. Established pheromone monitoring in JP Hrvatske šume has been described from various sources. Both types of pheromone traps WitaTrap® and MultiWit® were used in the monitoring of pine bark beetles in the area of JP Croatian forests. The types of used traps and pheromones from the manufacturer Witasek are described. This paper deals with the analysis of catches from traps and comparison with the catches of the same GJ Croatian Forest during four years. A spatio-temporal analysis of the dynamics of bark beetle populations and the determined total share of entomofauna in the total catch for the period from 2018 to 2021 are also presented. Analysis of the catch of pheromone traps determined the share of targeted and non-targeted entomofauna in the total catch for 2019. In a period lasting four years, it indicated a significant decrease in the number of traps set in the JP Croatian Forests. The data were compared with similar research by other authors in order to compare the obtained phenological data. Bark beetle populations have the ability to rapidly gradate after dry seasons, and for this reason, further monitoring is necessary in order to be able to react properly in time if unwanted mass occurrences of these pests occur.
