Abstract
Jedan od glavnih nedostataka drva kao materijala je njegova sposobnost gorenja čime se može značajno ugroziti sigurnost ljudi i imovine. Iz tog razloga razvijeni su vatroodbojni premazi. Vatroodbojni premazi svojom sposobnošću zaštite podloge od gorenja čine ključnu ulogu u zaštiti drvenih elemenata od požara. U ovom radu opisan je europski sustav klasifikacije građevnih materijala prema kojem drvo i drvni proizvodi pripadaju razredu D, a ako su obrađeni vatroodbojnim premazima mogu zadovoljti zahtjeve razreda B. Opisana je gorivost drva, požarna svojstva drva, te kako i na koji način djeluju upjenjujući i ablacijski vatroodbojni premazi za drvo, također navedeni su i neki primjeri vatroodbojnih premaza za drvo.
Abstract (english)
One of the main drawbacks of wood as a material is its susceptibility to combustion, which can pose a significant risk to the safety of people and property. For this reason, fire-resistant coatings have been developed. Fire-resistant coatings, with their ability to protect the substrate from burning, play a key role in protecting wooden elements from fire. This paper describes the European classification system for construction materials, in which wood and wood products belong to Class D, but when treated with fire-resistant coatings, they can meet the requirements of Class B. The flammability of wood, the fire properties of wood, and the mechanism of action of intumescent and ablative fire-resistant coatings are described in this work. Additionally, some examples of fire-resistant coatings for wood are provided.
