Abstract
Ovaj diplomski rad sastoji se od teorijskog dijela o ruskim narodnim pričama, Sergeju Djagiljevu, njegovom Ballets Russes i o baletu Žar ptica, te od realizacijskog dijela izrade maski i oglavlja inspirirani bajkom i baletom Žar ptica. Balet je rađen po ruskoj narodnoj priči te su u njegovoj produkciji sudjelovali veliki umjetnici tog doba. Glazbu je skladao Igor Stravinski, kostime i scenu radili su Alexander Golovin i Léon Bakst a koreografiju je osmislio Michail Fokin koji je i sam plesao u baletu uz Tamaru Karsavinu i ostale izvođače. Žar ptica, glavni lik baleta, bila mi je glavna inspiracija u izradi maski te je i samim time nastao njihov oblik koji izgledom asocira na pticu. Oglavlja su inspirirana ruskom poviješću odijevanja te su ona svojevrsni omaž ruskoj kulturi. U procesu same izrade najveći naglasak je u izradi detalja koji su svojom kombinacijom stvorili kompozicije koje odišu ruskom kulturom i identitetom.
Abstract (english)
This master thesis consists of the theoretical part about Russian folk tales, Sergei Diaghilev, his Ballet Russes and the ballet The Firebird, and the practical part of creating masks and headwears inspired by the fairy tale and ballet The Firebird. The ballet is based on a Russian folk tale and its production involved greatest artists of the time. The music was composed by Igor Stravinsky, the costumes and the stage were done by Alexander Golovin and Léon Bakst and the choreography was designed by Michel Fokine, who also danced in the ballet with Tamara Karsavina and other ballet dancers. The Firebird, the main character of the ballet, was my main inspiration in creating masks which shapes resemble those of birds. The headwears have been inspired by the Russian history of clothing and are a kind of hommage to Russian culture. In the process of sheer creating, the biggest emphasis has been on details which, through their combination, have created compositions that reflect Russian culture and identity.
