Abstract
Razdoblje prijelaza iz 19. u 20. stoljeće, u umjetničkom smislu znano kao hrvatska secesija ili moderna ključno je razdoblje hrvatske likovne umjetnosti, arhitekture, književnosti i kulture općenito. Ono je svojevrsna prekretnica koja je odbacivši historicizam i tradicionalnost iz temelja promijenila hrvatsku umjetnost i tako je okrenula prema suvremenosti. Odcjepljenje od tradicionalnog akademizma i potpuna sloboda umjetničkog stvaralaštva glavna je težnja ovog umjetničkog pokreta koji svoje začetke ima u Beču i bečkoj secesiji, europskom središtu modernosti. Cilj ovog rada je analizirati nastanak i razvitak umjetničkih strujanja hrvatske moderne s naglaskom na slikarstvo te ženu kao glavnu inspiraciju umjetnika i kao samu umjetnicu, aktivnog sudionika na likovnoj sceni hrvatske secesije. Inspirirana umjetničkim slobodarskim težnjama tog razdoblja izradila sam petnaest suvremenih likovnih radova ilustracijskog karaktera u kojima sam se na vlastiti način dotakla određenih značajki spomenutog razdoblja, posebice prikaza i uloge žena u istom.
Abstract (english)
The transition period from the 19th to the 20th century, known as Croatian Secession in the art world, is a key period in Croatian art, architecture, literature and culture. It is a turning point in Croatian art history, shifting it from traditionalism and historicism towards contemporary art. The main objective of the movement, which takes inspiration from Vienna Secession, is moving away from traditional academicism and towards complete freedom of artistic expression. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the inception and evolution of Croatian Secession with emphasis on painting and the woman as the essential muse and as an artist in her own right. Inspired by the movement's pursuit of creative liberty, I have created fifteen contemporary illustrations applying some of the visual characteristics of the period and showcasing the image and the position of women in Croatian Secession.
