Abstract
Ovaj rad bavi se fenomenom statusa pop ikone Mao Tse-Tunga, totalitarističkog vođe kineskog komunističkog režima. U fokusu istraživanja nalazi se Mao odijelo, koje se proučava kroz područje suvremene likovne umjetnosti i modnog dizajna. U teorijskom dijelu rada analizira se sličnost kulta ličnosti u totalitarnom komunističkom režimu Kine i pop ikone u zapadnjačkom društvu. Uspoređuje se kineska komunistička propaganda s masovnim medijima na Zapadu, kao i njihovo manipuliranje javnošću. Nadalje se opisuju radovi dvojice suvremenih umjetnika - Andya Warhola i Sui Jianga, kao i kolekcije suvremenih modnih dizajnera inspiriranih Mao odijelom. Rezultat istraživanja je modna kolekcija CPR/9674/MCT, u kojoj se problematizira estetska i značenjska komponenta Mao odijela.
Abstract (english)
This paper works the phenomenon of the status of pop icon Mao Zedoung, a totalitarian leader of the Chinese communist regime. The focus of the research is the Mao suit being studied through the field of contemporary fine art and fashion design. The theoretical part of the paper analyses similarities of the cult of personality in the totalitarian communist regime of China and the pop icon in Western society. Chinese communist propaganda and mass media are compared with the West, as well as their manipulation of the public. The works of two contemporary artists Andy Warhol and Sui Jianguo, as well as the collection of contemporary fashion designers inspired by Mao suit are described further paper in the paper. The result of the research is a fashion collection CPR / 9674 / MTC that problematizes aesthetic and semantic component of Mao suits.
