ABSTRACT The study aims to determine whether the COVID-19 pandemic has influenced the level of physical activity of educators in the Republic of Croatia and the time spent in their sedentary habits. The sample consisted of 131 educators from different Croatian counties. The survey was conducted with a questionnaire at the level of the Republic of Croatia, and the Croatian version of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire - IPAQ was used as a measuring instrument. The dependent variables of the study were the questions from the above-mentioned questionnaire, while the independent variables consisted of the chronological age, years of service, level of education, and place of work of the educators. The basic descriptive parameters that were calculated are the arithmetic mean and the standard deviation. To determine the differences between certain variables, the Student's t-test for dependent samples, the analysis of variance, was applied. The results indicate that there is a statistically significant difference in the level of physical activity of educators before and during the pandemic. However, there was no statistically significant difference in the amount of time spent in sedentary activities before and during the pandemic. The highest level of physical activity before and during the pandemic was experienced by educators of older age, while the time spent on physical activities by the youngest educators is particularly worrying because the value is far lower than that of older educators. Younger educators do not meet the recommended amount of physical activity. There is room for raising further awareness among educators about the importance of physical activity to preserve their health, and all the skills and competencies necessary for quality and professional educational work. In addition, it will be difficult for educators with sedentary lifestyles to be exemplars for children and propagate the benefits of healthy living habits.
