Abstract
Završni rad teme „Jesu li djeca digitalna generacija?“ daje pregled najutjecajnijih socioloških pristupa problematizaciji sve veće prisutnosti medija u svakodnevnom životu djece. Od izuma televizije pa sve do danas javljaju se različite teorije o pozitivnom i negativnom učinku tehnologije na život djeteta i koncept djetinjstva u cijelosti. Neil Postman primjer je negativne utopije čija zabrinutost o negativnom utjecaju televizije prelazi u moralnu paniku, dok Don Tapscott predstavlja potpunu suprotnost i primjer vizionarske utopije koja novu generaciju smatra digitalnom generacijom.
Abstract (english)
The topic of the final work is „Whether children are digital generation?“ and it gives an overview of most influential sociological approach to the issues dealing with the increasing presence of the media in the daily lives od children. Since the invention of television and until today there are positive and negative theories about the impact of technology on the child's life and the concept of childhood as a whole. Neil Postman is example of the negative utopia whose concern about the negative impact of television turns into a moral panic, while Don Tapscott is a complete contrast and he is example of visionary utopia that a new generation is considered the digital generation.
