Abstract (english) | The aim of this paper is, using a battery of fourteen tests for monitoring kinanthropological characteristics, including morphological (body height, body weight, forearm circumference, forearm skinfold, back skinfold, body mass index, and body fat percentage), motor (standing long jump, backward polygon, sit-ups, standing forward bend, bent arm hang, and hand tapping) and functional abilities (3 - minute run) of early school age children, from first to fourth grade, in order to determine if there are significant differences in children in terms of age and sex. The experimental study included 374 pupils (out of which 201 girls and 173 boys), from first to fourth grade of primary school, that have been surveyed during their final check in order to test their motor, functional and morphological characteristics. Gathered data analysis produced results indicating considerable differences based on age (body height, body weight, forearm circumference, body mass index, back skinfold, body fat percentage, long jump, backward polygon, sit-ups, standing forward bend, bent-arm hang, 3- minute run, and hand tapping) and sex (forearm circumference, long jump, backward polygon, standing forward bend, and hand tapping) between girls and boys of early school age. |
