Abstract
Pod utjecajem mnogih promjena u društvu dogodile su se i promijene u obitelji, roditeljstvu i poimanju djeteta. U radu će se razmatrati temeljne paradigme i karakteristike suvremenog roditeljstva., ali i roditeljstvo općenito kao i njegova transformacija kroz povijest. U suvremenom roditeljstvu veoma vaţnim se smatra kvaliteta odnosa roditelj-dijete i roditeljski odgojni postupci te njihov utjecaj na dijete, takoĎer dijete se smatra aktivnim sudionikom odgoja koji na njega utječe jednako kao i roditelj. Od roditelja se očekuje kompetentnost u roditeljskom djelovanju, prepoznavanje potreba svoje djece i djelovanje u najboljem interesu djeteta zbog toga je potrebno osigurati programe obrazovanja roditelja i pruţiti potporu u roditeljstvu što je odgovornost društva. Suradnjom, obrazovanjem društva i roditelja u interesu i za dobrobit djeteta moţe se odgovoriti na izazove suvremenog roditeljstva.
Abstract (english)
Under the influence of many changes in society, there have been changes in the family, parenting and understanding of the child. The paper discusses the underlying paradigms and characteristics of modern parenting, as well as parenting in general and its transformation through history. In modern parenting, very important is the quality of parent-child relationship and parental child rearing practices and their impact on the child. The child is also considered to be an active participant in in his/her own development. Parents are expected to have competence in parental behavior, recognition of their children's needs, and action in the best interest of the child, so it is necessary to provide parents education programs and provide parenting support as the responsibility of society. Collaboration and education of the society and parents in the interests and for the benefit of the child can respond to the challenges of modern parenting.
