This paper discusses the emotional development of children in infancy, early age and early childhood as well as the components related to emotional development of children. Aside from physical, motorical and cognizant development, the child develops emotionally from birth as well and thus develops relationships with himself, but also with people from his / her environment. Through emotion, children signalize the environment their needs and interact with the environment. It is not enough for a child to only show emotions, it is important to understand them and to regulate them. The child's temperament depends on their interaction with the environment which is crucial to the emotional development of the child. Temperament is the specificity of each child that is expressed as reactivity to the environment and ability to self-regulate the behavior. His relationships with other people begin with a close relationship with a parent or some other person which makes him feels safe and loved. That connection is called affinity. Development of empathy, which is an emotional response to the emotions that the child perceives in others, is the most obvious manifestations of conection between expressing child's own emotions and their understanding of other people's emotions.
