This paper deals with the usefulness of sound in narration of fairy tales. The theoretical part of the paper contains the definition of children's literature and fairy tales. Then there is a historical review of fairy tales and a division of folk, artistic and contemporary fairy tales. The most famous fairy tale authors, such as Charles Perrault, Grimm, Hans Christian Andersen, and Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić are pointed out. Furthermore, the sound is defined and the way the human ear perceives it. Afterwards, the paper deals with music, music elements, and music development of children. The last theoretical part combines fairy tale and sound into a musical story with an emphasis on literary adaptation of House of the Hedgehog. The theoretical part of the paper concludes by emphasizing the importance of storytelling in a kindergarten with enrichment of sounds. The empirical part of the paper contains a survey conducted using the poll method to answer questions about how many parents use music, singing and changing voices of characters to help in the narration of fairy tales. The research also wanted to answer the question of whether the popularity of children's radio stories is declining. The paper ends with a conclusion on the results of the research.
