Abstract Igra je aktivnost koju djeca vole i u njoj uživaju.
Abstract (english) A game is an activity which children both love and enjoy. It represents the childs' inner instinct which adults (parents, educators) have to encourage and not restrain. There are different theories and definitions of the term 'game' and therefore the phenomenon of the term 'game' cannot be explained in only one sentence. While playing, the child is having fun and he/she most likely always returns to his/her favourite game. The categories of childrens' plays are: functional play, symbolic game and a game with rules. Every game has its own structure which is made of the next core elements: constant elemnts of play, rules, types of game development, listed game interaction, symbolic component, the beginning and the end of the game. With games, children are developing their knowledge which can be seen throughout the hollistic development of each child. With its dynamics and movements, different games are positively affecting the childs' physical development. Communication during the game enables children to learn the language while listening to other children and adults. The game also has an impact on the emotional development of a child which is the base of the childs' psychological and social growth. During the play, the child is in an interaction with other children and is sharing his experiences and building relationships with them while also adopting rules and norms of behaviour. The game is enabling an insight into the inner world of every child, that is, the way the child sees the world around him. The childs' moral development is observed through ways the child thinks about both his own actions and the actions of others. Computer games and video games which are drawing more and more children each day have both a positive and a negative impact. However, children need free play to which they will gladly come back to and in which they will be in an interaction with others.
