| Abstract | Kompleksnost suvremenog društva u kojemu živimo, čini sve izazovnijim ispunjavanje uloga koje kroz život preuzimamo. Jedna od njih, možda i najodgovornija, je ona roditeljska. Upravo je pred roditeljima, kao primarnim odgojiteljima, sve više izazova i dvojbi kako kvalitetno odgajati djecu u globalnom okruženju. Oni su dužni svom djetetu osigurati što sigurniju i poticajniju razvojnu okolinu, a u današnje vrijeme tu okolinu u velikoj mjeri oblikuje korištenje nove tehnologije (računala, tableti, mobilni telefoni) i time pristup različitim medijskim sadržajima. Čimbenici koji utječu pozitivno na dječji razvoj (kvalitetna komunikacija, dogovor oko pravila ponašanja, uzajamno povjerenje i prisnost između roditelja i djece) trebali bi smanjiti nepoželjan utjecaj tih medijskih sadržaja. Zajedničko korištenje nove tehnologije ima pozitivne učinke ako je to dogovorena obiteljska aktivnost gdje se kroz uzajamnu komunikaciju raspravlja o medijskim sadržajima koji se gledaju. Bitna je i roditeljska spremnost na kvalitetno provođenje vremena sa svojom djecom u drugim aktivnostima. Ono što predstavlja problem je kad korištenje nove tehnologije služi kao sredstvo za zabavljanje djeteta dok roditelji obavljaju druge poslove. U tom se slučaju postavlja pitanje koje sadržaje i u kojem trajanju djeca tijekom dana gledaju preko malih ekrana. Najveću odgovornost u razvoju ispravnog odnosa djece prema korištenju novih tehnologija, a time i medijskih sadržaja, snose upravo roditelji. U radu je prikazano istraživanje provedeno metodom anketnog upitnika na uzorku od 313 roditelja predškolske djece u dobi od tri do sedam godina u Splitu. Rezultati prikazuju dostupnost novih tehnologija (računala, tableta, pametnih telefona) predškolskoj djeci, a odnosi se na vrijeme, sadržaje i okolnosti u kojima koriste male ekrane te koliko aktivno vremena roditelji provode sa svojom djecom u drugim aktivnostima. |
| Abstract (english) | The complexity of the modern society we live in makes the roles we take on during our lives the more challenging. One of these roles, perhaps even the most difficult one, especially when it comes to responsibility, is the parental role. The parents themselves, as primary educators, face both the increasing number of challenges and doubts on how to provide a high-quality upbringing to their children in a global environment. It is their duty to provide their children with the safest and most enticing environment for their development; however, this development has nowadays been shaped, to great extent, by the use of modern technologies (computers, tablets and mobile phones) which enable access to various media content. The factors which positively impact children’s development (high-quality communication skills, agreement on the rules of behaviour, mutual trust and closeness between the parents and their children) should reduce the unwanted influence of the said media content. If the use of the new technologies is established as a family activity, in which the media content is watched together and then discussed among the participants, then it can be perceived as having a positive impact. It is also important that the parents show initiative to spend quality time with their children in other activities. The problem arises when the use of new technologies serves for the purpose of entertaining the child while the parent runs other errands. This situation implies the question of which content the children watch during the day and for how long. When it comes to the establishment of children’s appropriate attitude towards new technologies, including media content as well, the greatest responsibility lies in the hands of the parents. This paper displays the research, conducted via a questionnaire, in the sample of 313 parents of preschool children, aged between three and seven, in Split. The results display the availability of the new technologies (computers, tablets and smartphones) to preschool children, and cover the spent time, viewed content, and the circumstances under which they spend their time in front of the screens. Furthermore, the results also cover the amount of quality time the parents spend with their children performing other activities. |
