Abstract (english) It is very important to view child as a whole being and to take into consideration its developmental characteristics. Although it is playful and requires a lot of stimulus, just like any adult, a child has the need for solitude. That is why a kindergarten needs to provide a space which offers the child to be able to isolate himself if necessary. Decoration and equipment of the space, as well as the functionality and use of space and furniture, largely speaks about the culture of the educational institution. The role of the caregiver in this process is to listen to the child's wishes and needs so that he or she, together with the child, can construct a space that will help the children feel as comfortable as possible during their early and pre-school education. The research cited in this paper shows that 85% of educators say they do not have such corner because there are too many children in groups and there is often a lack of space inside the kindergarten. The purpose of this paper is to present a model of a corner for solitude that has many different functions and implements a child's needs for play, learning and isolation. When choosing textiles and other materials, colors that evoke feelings of joy, happiness, comfort and serenity were used. The corner also offers storage areas that are incorporated into the furniture components through various conceptual designs (drawers under the stairs and a container under the bench). Its multifunctionality can also be seen in allowing children to participate in different activities at the same time; one front offers the opportunity to explore magnetism, the other front acts as a board on which children can draw or write with chalk, the inner lower floor can be used for a symbolic play, while the upper floor is conceived as a secret place for a child to go to seclude by reading picture books or simply- rest.
