Učenici se kroz svoje obrazovanje također susreću s medijem stripa i to kroz dva nastavna predmeta: Hrvatski jezik (u sklopu medijske kulture i lektire) i Likovnu kulturu (područje primijenjenog oblikovanja, to jest, dizajna).
Abstract (english) Comic Books, as a media, started to form in 1890s when the Comic Book The Yellow Kid by Richard F. Outcault was first published, although it can be said that its elements appeared through different periods of History (from ancient history, through medieval history until today). Comic Books went through real revolution in 20th century when it started to develop as an independent media and to gain wider audience all over the world. Although it is often compared to different media and art forms, comic book managed to stand out as an independent media and an independent art form with following elements: theme, frame, relation between image and text, line, surface and color. Pupils are also faced with the media of Comic Books through their education in two different subjects: Croatian (field of media culture and literature) and Visual Arts (filed of Design). This paper analyses comic books made in Visual Arts class in four grades of elementary school. Participants from first and second class are pupils from Ivan Meštrović Primary School from Zagreb and participants from second and third grades are pupils from Ivan Perkovac Primary School from Šenkovec. During classes the total of 61 Comic Books were made which are assembled in a large folder. For visual language and thematic analysis few works from every class were chosen. Pupils had a chance to come to know Comic Books elements with an accent on framing and relation between image and text and to try to make a comic book using different techniques (felt pen, water colors, collage, ink, washed ink, tempera). Results showed that pupils are ready and motivated to make Comic Books in all four classes of elementary school and they are able to make it using different techniques.
