The aim of this thesis was, using a survey questionnaire, to investigate how much time and in which ways possible do children of early and preschool age spend physical activity at home and in general during the new situation caused by the virus COVID-19. The importance of physical activity for all people, including early and preschool children, is unquestionable. Starting off 2020 in March, a situation arises that for a longer period of time prevents the on-going of kindergartens, schools, colleges and other institutions and facilities that gather a large amount of children and adults. Because of that, upbringing and education are being moved from public spaces to homes, while classes continue to be held online. The survey results confirmed that as many as 96% of parents go out with their children during a pandemic and spend more than 2 hours a day outdoors, while at home 65% of parents do not spend more than one hour a day with their children in some form of physical activity. Based on the conducted research, we concluded that the cooperation of educational institutions with parents during a pandemic is essential for the mutual exchange of information and the need for parents to receive additional education. It was also found that parents, despite extraordinary circumstances, are eager to acquire new knowledge and skills to enable their children to continue physical activity.
