Nowadays, most of a person's life is subject to technology, excessive stress and a sedentary and overcrowded lifestyle, which negatively affect the health and psychophysical condition of a person. Each succeeding generation is increasingly choosing technology - mobile phones, computers and video games - in front of sports, physical activities, exercise and staying on the playground or in nature. The preschool period is the most suitable for influencing the overall psychophysical development of the child. Dance is innate to people of any age, especially children. From an early age, children move spontaneously with a musical background, so dancing is an ideal activity for the development and improvement of motor skills and other anthropological characteristics, and greatly affects the mental state of the child. Dance basically contains dance structures that are based on natural forms of movement and have a positive effect on the development of a sense of beauty and harmony of movement, proper posture, creative expression and creativity. The aim of this paper is to make educators and other professionals working in the field of education aware of the importance of dance for the development of children's morphological characteristics, motor, functional and cognitive abilities and the positive impact on the child's self and mental state in general.
