This paper will present the influence of Jazz dance on the motor abilities of preschool children. The first part of the paper will briefly describe the motor skills that are very important for the development of all the characteristics and abilities that will easily and efficiently perform daily activities. Good fitness preparation is required for optimal expansion and interaction of these possibilities. A jazz dancer in his fitness preparation should have represented exercises for the development of strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, coordination, agility and balance. The role of dancers and trainers through systematic work, long-term plan and fitness training program is equal to the training schedule for the development of all key abilities. The second part of the paper will describe the concept of jazz dance, history, basic characteristics and types of this style of dance. Jazz dance is one of the most popular dance styles containing elements of African dance, European social dance, American modern dance as well as classical ballet. This energetic and fun technique develops grace, encourages personal dance styles and originality. It provides various possibilities for discovering the abilities of our own bodies, but also by revealing our subtlety in movement, our lyricism, instability, rhythmicity and ability to express ourselves. The following will describe the preparation of work, group work, organization of classes and the choice of teaching topic with regard to age. The teacher, ie the choreographer, must be aware of the child's possibilities and therefore choose the material, the way of presentation and the amount of application. The final part of the paper will present the research methodology. Tests to measure motor skills, more specifically to measure coordination, flexibility and speed, will compare the abilities of children who train and who do not train Jazz dance. This research will show how positively Jazz dance influences and encourages the growth and development of preschool children.
