87 učenika i učenica Osnovne škole Ksavera Šandora Gjalskog u Zaboku te 63 učenika i učenica Osnovne škole Ivana Gorana Kovačića u Zagrebu.
Abstract (english) The aim of the research was to determine whether there are differences in spending free time and engaging in kinesiological leisure activities among third and fourth grade students, with regard to their place of residence. Also, the research shows whether there are differences in the leisure time of these students, depending on their gender. It was determined how much free time students have per day, and their preferences for further kinesiological activities in the future. Also, the research shows which activities dominate in students' free time and which activities are chosen by students who engage in kinesiological activities in their free time. 150 students from two schools in the Republic of Croatia participated in this research. 87 students of the Ksaver Šandor Gjalski Elementary School in Zabok and 63 students of the Ivan Goran Kovačić Elementary School in Zagreb. The research showed that primary school students in Zagreb estimated that they had more free time per day (more than four hours; 51% of them), while students in the school in Zabok estimated that they had two to four hours of free time per day (44%). Most of the students answered that in their free time they do some kind of kinesiological activities. These results match for students in both schools. A total of 90% of students who engage in kinesiological activities in their free time, depending on the place of residence, this was answered by 90% of students at the school in Zabok and 86% of students at the school in Zagreb, which are extremely high percentages. For students of both schools, the most dominant activity is football, followed by dance and tennis. The obtained results show that the students of the Ivan Goran Kovačić Elementary School listed more diverse kinesiological activities that they do in their free time than the students of the Ksaver Šandor Gjalski Elementary School in Zabok. Students at the school in Zagreb are more likely to engage in kinesiological activities - 47% of them engage in kinesiological activities every day, while students at the school in Zabok engage in kinesiological activities mostly two to three times a week. It is encouraging that most students who engage in kinesiological activities want to continue engaging in them in the future. Students need to be encouraged from an early age to engage in activities that include physical exercise, in order to prevent the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle.
