The family – preschool cooperation relationship is considered to be extremly important for the child`s overall development. In order to achieve a cooperative relationship, the necessary conditions for it`s realization are: equality, mutual respect and appreciation, two-way communication, active listening and responsibility. Preschool institutions are institutions in which the transition from the family environment to the education system takes place. The goal of every preschool institution is to ensure maximum conditions for quality growth and development of each individual child. In order to achieve such goals, a rich and high-quality stimulating environment of the kindergarten is of key importance, as well as the competence and multiple roles of educators. Positive communication between parents and educators is extremly crucial, mostly for the common good of children and their social development. In order for the cooperation to be successful, it is very important that the cooperation is mutual, and this is only possible if the educational institution and the family have the same goal. The aim of this paper is to point out the significance of achieving good and quality cooperation between families and preschool institutions because it is a prerequisite for optimal growth and development of every child.
