In n this research paper, the aim was to investigate whether there are differences between the motor abilities of preschool children in the city of Zagreb and Šibenik. The paper describes and investigates motor skills in preschool children. The research was conducted on a sample of thirty children in two mixed-age kindergarten groups. Significance is given to kinesiological activity, which plays a major role in the overall growth and development of the child. It is emphasized that kinesiological activity is necessary for the development of motor skills and motor skills themselves. Motor skills are traits that participate in solving motor tasks. It is the ability to properly and effectively perform movements, movements or willingly maintain a certain position under the influence of various factors and external forces. The motor abilities of speed, strength and power, endurance, precision, agility, balance, coordination and flexibility are described. For the purpose of the study to assess motor skills, five motor variables were measured: balance, explosive power, agility, coordination, and speed. The tests used for this measurement are described: standing on a cube with one leg, long jump, taping with the hand, running with a hammer and a circle of four-legged. The paper describes the characteristics of larger (Zagreb) and smaller (Šibenik) cities as well as the characteristics of free time of children of individual cities. The obtained results indicate that there are very small statistically significant differences between preschool children in Šibenik and the city of Zagreb. Research shows that children from Šibenik have more developed motor abilities of balance, explosive power and agility than children from Zagreb. Children from Zagreb showed a better result in motor ability to coordinate. Measuring the motor ability of speed, there is no difference between the children of the city of Zagreb and Šibenik.
