Abstract Ovim diplomskim radom nastoje se objasniti prava i obveze članova obitelji.
Abstract (english) This thesis seeks to explain the rights and obligations of all family members. Family is the strongest factor in the formation of a child's personality, so it is very important to encourage and enable the child to develop and grow properly from an early age. A family is not a system in which an individual works for himself, an important role in a family is the harmony of the entire family community and joint investment in relationships. Respect for the integrity of each member of the community, proper communication, taking responsibility, equality of members and respect for the rights of each individual member of the community are fundamental values that are essential for the community to prosper. In the past, the fundamental values of a family have varied considerably, especially regarding the rights and obligations of family members. Children and women did not have the right to express their opinions, they were considered incompetent and less intelligent, while adult men had all the rights and privileges. Children's position was endangered, due to that fact various documents tried to protect children's rights, until the end of the 80's when the Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted. The Convention gave children all the necessary rights, and parents were given the right to care for their children and their upbringing. By protecting and changing rights, the obligations of family members also change. Children's responsibilities such as hard physical labor in agriculture and factories are inadmissible and punishable. Nowadays, children's responsibilities are adapted to the development and age of the child. Encouraging the child to take on daily responsibilities develops a sense of self-discipline, productivity, versatility and responsibility towards oneself and others. At the end of the thesis we will be discussing the rights and obligations of parents related to school. Every child has the right to education; therefore, parents are obliged to actively cooperate with the school, which affects the quality of children's education, creates better school achievements and greater motivation of the child.
