The research was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between morphological characteristics and motor abilities in preschool children. In addition to the primary endpoint, differences between boys and girls in morphological and motor ability test results were also examined. The study involved 51 children, of whom 25 were girls and 26 were boys. All children are attending a kindergarten in Varaždin County. Through 14 tests classified into the categories of longitudinal and transverse dimensionality of the skeleton, body volume and mass and subcutaneous adipose tissue, the morphological characteristics of children were checked, while motor skills were determined by standing long jump, sit and reach, sit up, standing on one leg, steps in sideways, pushing the ball around the stand with your hand and walking backwards on all fours. The Mann Whitney test did not yield statistically significant differences between the sexes in the morphological feature tests. On the other hand, there are differences in motor skills assessment tests where girls performed better in the four-legged walking backwards, steps in sideways, standing on one leg and sit and reach tests, and boys in the standing long jump and sit up tests. Correlation tests were performed to determine the association between morphological characteristics and motor abilities. The results showed a significant association between them which would mean that morphological features can be of great importance as a predictor of motor abilities.
