Abstract Za pojavu pretilosti u ranoj dobi djece i učenika pogoduju nezdrave prehrambene navike i sjedilački način života.
Abstract (english) Unhealthy eating habits and a sedentary lifestyle favor the appearance of obesity at an early age in children and students. Proper eating habits and physical activity ensure proper growth and development and can prevent some diseases, disorders, or health problems from developing. The importance of developing healthy habits starts from the smallest feet. According to various researches, the importance of the environment in the development of healthy habits in children is recognized, which means that children and students need an example of how to properly treat their body and develop habits that will have benefits for development. On the one hand, the student's environment consists of family and peers, while on the other hand, it is the educational institution, i.e. the school environment, where the teachers themselves play a big role in the teaching of physical and health education. With the help of sports and more movement in general, the child's personality develops, socio-emotional development is encouraged, and the respiratory and cardiovascular systems work better. The goal of this research is to investigate whether there is obesity among male students in primary education and to determine whether there is a difference in the prevalence of obesity with regard to the age of the students. It will also be investigated how the child's lifestyle habits (physical activity and eating habits) affect the child's growth and development, that is the possible occurrence of obesity. A statistical analysis of the data will be performed, which will determine the prevalence of obesity among students in primary education. The starting point of the research will be anthropometric measurements (body weight, body height and BMI) of students and a survey.
