In the last few decades, the Internet has become an indispensable part of the lives of all people, especially young people who grew up in the era of digital technology and grew along with it. The Internet is a source of unlimited knowledge that provides numerous opportunities for learning, research and information and enables access to a huge number of topics. The thesis analyzed how young people use the Internet as a source of knowledge, what possibilities it offers, and what are the positive and negative sides of using the Internet in learning and educating young people. The paper explores some of the most popular sources of knowledge on the Internet, such as encyclopedias, digital libraries, learning websites, and online foreign language learning platforms such as Duolingo and Memrise. The impact of social networks on young people and safety on the Internet and addiction to it was analyzed as well. All of the above will be analyzed with the aim of better understanding of the importance of the Internet as a source of knowledge for young people and the importance of proper use of the Internet in learning and education. Advances in technology and the growth of the Internet use have enabled young people to have easier access to information and knowledge, but it is important to take into account the negative aspects of the Internet use, such as addiction, threats and security problems that may arise.
