Music is an essential part of children's development, and numerous studies prove that being surrounded by music greatly influences their growth and development. It is crucial for the development of children's emotional, intellectual, social, and physical abilities, as well as for brain development and intelligence, which is the focus of many scientists and researchers. The goal of this paper is to emphasize to educators and parents the importance that musical creativity has in the development of young and preschool-aged children, and to encourage them to cultivate it. When discussing musical creativity, it is first necessary to explain what music is, why it is important, how it affects children's development, and what aspects of their abilities it strengthens. Afterward, it is important to draw attention to the concept of creativity, what it is, and how it comes about, thus also explaining the concept of musical creativity. Musical activities in a kindergarten should be an integral part of the daily routine, and to encourage children's musical creativity, educators must work with the children and engage them in activities that strengthen their musical competence. The music exploration area located in the kindergarten's playroom is also crucial, as it allows children to access the area and express themselves musically whenever they feel the urge to create. Encouraging musical creativity in kindergarten is a daily practice, and educators must be aware of its significance and know how to properly guide children in those moments without interrupting their musical creation. At the end of the paper, examples of encouraging musical creativity in young and preschoolaged children are provided.
