Tjelesno vježbanje pospješuje djetetove motoričke sposobnosti, stvara pozitivnu sliku djeteta o samome sebi, pozitivno djeluje na mentalno zdravlje i zdravlje općenito.
Abstract (english) Physical activity is crucial for the holistic development of a child. Therefore, children should be encouraged to engage in physical exercise. Physical exercise enhances children's motor skills, fosters a positive self-image, positively impacts mental health, and contributes to overall well-being. It is important to promote physical activity among children through Physical and Health Education classes both in and outside of school to develop a positive attitude towards exercise. Family and society play a significant role in shaping children's attitudes towards physical exercise. The goal is for children to develop healthy habits that will accompany them throughout their lives.
This master's thesis aims to examine the attitudes of elementary school students towards physical exercise. An anonymous survey consisting of ten questions was used for the research. The study was conducted in three second-grade classes across three elementary schools in the city of Zagreb: Antun Branko Šimić Elementary School, Žuti brijeg Elementary School, and Ante Starčević Elementary School. The sample consisted of 49 students, including 25 boys and 24 girls. After analyzing the survey results, it was found that 60% of students have a positive attitude towards physical exercise. Separate responses from male and female students were analyzed, revealing that girls generally have a more positive attitude towards physical exercise compared to boys. Additionally, particular attention was given to personal hygiene practices following physical exercise. Regarding the statement "After physical exercise, it is important to take care of personal hygiene (take a bath, wash the clothes we trained in...)", 42% of girls and 36% of boys agreed, while 46% of girls and 56% of boys completely agreed. This indicates that the majority of students consider personal hygiene to be extremely important.
