Abstract Likovno izražavanje predstavlja temeljni aspekt cjelokupnog razvoja djeteta. Treći dio rada prikazuje rezultate istraživanja o učestalosti i zastupljenosti crtačkih i grafičkih tehnika u predškolskim ustanovama.
Abstract (english) Artistic expression represents a fundamental aspect of a child's overall development. From an early age, it is essential to provide children with opportunities for creative expression through a variety of techniques and materials tailored to their abilities and interests. Through artistic creation, children explore and engage with the world around them, develop critical thinking skills, and satisfy their intrinsic need for self-expression. Preschool teachers and parents play a crucial role in encouraging and facilitating this form of expression, and it is important that they provide a stimulating and supportive environment. The first part of this paper analyzes the theoretical framework of drawing and graphic techniques applicable to work with preschool children. Drawing techniques such as charcoal, chalk, ink, pencil, and markers, which develop fine motor skills and precision, are described, as well as graphic techniques like linocut, cardboard printing, monotype, and screen printing, which encourage creative expression. However, preschool teachers do not use these graphic techniques in their original, recommended forms. Instead, the tools and materials are adapted to the children's age, making the techniques applicable and comprehensible within the pedagogical context. The second part of the paper focuses on practical research conducted among children and preschool teachers in a preschool institution. The research involved two groups of children 'Trešnjice' (3-4 years old) and 'Tratinčice' (5-7 years old). The children applied drawing and graphic techniques to create artistic works on the theme of self-portrait. The third part of the paper presents the research results on the frequency and representation of drawing and graphic techniques in preschool institutions. A survey was conducted to examine how often preschool teachers (N=73) use certain techniques, which materials they prefer, and how they assess their impact on children's development. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of diversity in artistic techniques within preschool education. It recommends greater integration of graphic techniques into daily activities with children and continuous training for preschool teachers to enhance their competencies in using artistic techniques.
