Abstract
Prema dosadašnjim istraživanjima odgojiteljska profesija pokazala se iznimno stresnim zanimanjem. Naime, svakodnevna izloženost višestrukim interakcijama i odnosima kako s djecom različite razvojne razine pa tako i s odraslima, posebno u dužem vremenskom peridu, može predstavljati veliki izvor stresa. Najčešći stresori koji se javljaju su loša komunikacija s roditeljima, nedostatak odgovarajućih resursa i osjećaj podcijenjenosti. Posao odgojitelja vrlo je složen proces i zahtijeva puno uloženog... More truda da se postignu određeni rezultati. Zbog toga odgojitelj mora posjedovati određene kompetencije i znati upravljati svojim emocijama. Koliko će stresna situacija ostaviti tragova na odgojitelju ovisi o njemu samom odnosno njegovim osobinama. Neke karakteristike odgojitelja mogu biti zaštitni faktori stresnih događaja kao što su otpornost, konstruktivno mišljenje i samoefikasnost. Iako je danas stres nemoguće izbjeći, uz pomoć bihevioralnih i kognitivnih tehnika moguće je smanjiti učinak stresa. Također, postoje razne strategije samopomoći koje pojedincu stvaraju priliku da se bolje nosi sa stresom. Odgojitelji koji svoj posao doživljava kao prijetnju i uzrok nezadovoljstva skloniji su zdravstvenim problemima, što znači da dugoročno djelovanje stresa može stvoriti tjelesne, psihičke i socijalne posljedice. Negativna ponašanja i stres odgojitelja mogu dovesti do pojave sindroma sagorijevanja koji može postati vrlo ozbiljan ako se uzrok stresa ne prepozna na vrijeme, odnosno ako se pravovremeno ne otkloni. Sindrom sagorijevanja javlja se postepeno kao posljedica duge izloženosti profesionalnom stresu i uzrokuje emocionalnu iscrpljenost, depersonalizaciju i sniženu percepciju osobnog postignuća. Jedan od faktora prevencije sindroma sagorijevanja je prihvaćanje postojeće situacije i usmjerenost na provođenje razvojnih ciljeva. Less
Abstract (english)
According to the majority of studies that have been conducted so far, the profession of an educator is an extremely stressful one. Everyday exposure to multiple interactions and relationships with children at various stages of development and adults, especially over a longer time period, can become a significant source of stress. The most frequent stressors that have been recognized are poor communication with parents, absence of necessary resources and the impression of being undervalued. The... More job of an educator is very complex and requires a lot of effort to achieve the expected results. That means that the educator has to possess specific competencies and have the ability to control personal emotions. The effect of a stressful situation depends on the educator's characteristics. Some personal traits can protect the educator during a stressful event, such as mental toughness, constructive thinking and self-efficiency. Since stress is practically unavoidable, behavioral and cognitive techniques can aid in reducing the effect of stress. There are also certain methods of self-help that enable the individual to handle stress with more ease. Educators that perceive their jobs as a threat and a source of dissatisfaction are more prone to health risks, which implies that being subjected to stress over a longer period of time results in adverse physical, mental and social consequences. Negative behavior and stress in educators can lead to manifestation of the burnout syndrome that can become a serious problem if its source is not determined in time, or if its not averted in a timely manner. The burnout syndrome is a direct result of a prolonged exposure to professional stress and can cause emotional fatigue, depersonalization and lowered perception of personal achievement.
