Abstract Hrvatski jezik i književnost najopsežniji je nastavni predmet u osnovnoj školi. Različite mogućnosti rada s tekstom opisuju ideje i donose poticaje za kreativnost učenika i učitelja u nastavi, nude nove ideje i smjernice kako nastavu učiniti kvalitetnijom.
Abstract (english) Croatian language and literature is the most comprehensive subject in elementary school. Literature itself makes the most of the subject of the mother tongue. Students read, explore, design, analyze different literary texts. It is important for students to be motivated to work and to encourage love for literature to keep up with books throughout life. Introduction to the method of literary education explains the phases of the development of the literary education, so that every age could be accessed in an appropriate way, in accordance with the cognitive and emotional abilities. By analyzing the contents of the teaching lesson of literature, there is a difference between traditional and contemporary teaching of literature. Different options of working with the text describe ideas and provide inspiration for the creativity of students and teachers., offering new ideas and guidelines to make teaching more quality. Encouraging the development of students' creativity is important for students to be not only passive observers in teaching, but active participants in the teaching process. The student should be intrinsically motivated to make the school attractive place for him. By highlighting the importance of storytelling and playing games in the teaching of literature, there is room for children to get up from the school bench and actually participate in classes, to give themselves in something and thus contribute to the teaching process itself. This paper aims to provide an overview of the possibilities of finding different solutions for interesting literacy classes in lower grades of elementary school. The researches carried out for the purpose of the work confirms that the teaching of literature is mostly monotonous and children need a lot of motivation and encouragement to work. Teachers also need support and education to make literacy and all the other subjects attractive and interesting. There are a lot of opportunities and resources, it is only necessary to love the teaching and the students, and it will result satisfaction in both ways.
