Abstract Empatija je sposobnost koja omogućuje ljudima suživot u društvu te socijalno funkcioniranje unutar društvene zajednice. Ključan je element za sklapanje čvrstih prijateljskih odnosa, ali i za kvalitetno funkcioniranje svih članova unutar obitelji. Kad se spominje empatičnost u odnosu, dakako je bitno spomenuti i važnost otvorenog izražavanja emocija što čini preduvjet usvajanju i korištenju empatije. Obitelj djetetu predstavlja prvi kontakt sa empatijom. Topao i nježan odnos roditelja, prožet brigom i ljubavi naspram svog djeteta čini početak učenja djeteta empatiji i njezinoj neizmjernoj važnosti u funkcioniranju zajednice. U ovom radu detaljnije će se predstaviti nezaobilazna uloga obitelji i obiteljskog odgoja tijekom razvoja djeteta. Obratit će se pozornost na roditeljske odgojne stilove te njihove pozitivne i negativne ishode na djetetov razvoj, ovisno o tome koji odgojni stil roditelji provode. Također, spomenuti će se značajna uloga empatije, njezin razvoj i učenje koje počinje već samim rođenjem djeteta. Cilj ovog rada je potaknuti roditelje, skrbnike i odgojitelje da uvide važnost razvoja empatije kod djece. Važno je da shvate koliko je zapravo njihovo ponašanje i odnos prema samom djetetu ili drugim članovima obiteljske ili društvene zajednice, značajan djetetu tijekom njegovog razvoja te učenja, ali i shvaćanja osjećaja koji se skriva u nazivu „empatija“. Da bi se prethodno navedeni cilj rada ostvario, potrebna je otvorenost od strane roditelja, njihova želja za usvajanjem novih spoznaja te briga o vlastitom djetetu, ali u konačnici i briga o boljem funkcioniranju cijele društvene zajednice koje će jednog dana i njihovo dijete biti dio.
Abstract (english) Empathy is an ability that enables people to live together in society and socially functioning within the community. It is a key element for establishing solid friendships, but also for the good functioning of all members within the family. When mentioning empathy in relation, it is important to mention the importance of open expression of emotions, which is a precondition for adopting and using empathy. The family is representing for a child the first contact with empathy. The warm and gentle relationship of parents with care and love towards their child, is the beginning of the child's learning of empathy and it is immense importance in the functioning of the community. In this paper, I will present more in detail the unavoidable role of family and family upbringing during the development of the child. I will pay attention to parenting upbringing styles and their positive and negative outcomes to child development, depending on which parenting style the parent carries out. I will also mention the important role of empathy, its development and learning that begins with the very birth of a child. The aim of this paper is to encourage parents, guardians and educators to inspect the importance of empathy development in children. It is important to understand how much their behavior and theirs relationship with child or other members of the family or community is significant during his development, learning, but also the perception of emotion which is hiding in the name of "empathy". In order to achieve the above-mentioned goal of the work, parents need to be open, they have to havet desire to adopt new knowledge and they have to care for their own child, but ultimately they have to have concern for the better functioning of the entire community that one day and their child will be part of.
