The goal of this study is to show the importance of swimming in everyday life of preschool children. The topic was chosen in order to expand the knowledge about positive impacts of swimming and how to do swimming lessons with children of preschool age. The study consists eight chapters, including introduction and conclusion. In first chapter, after the introduction, entitled „The meaning and role of swimming“ are listed the basic characteristics of swimming, the role of swimming in everyday life and the importance of involvement of educational institutions in swimming lessons. Second chapter „Swimming tasks“ is about positive impacts of swimming on health, how much is swimming important for safety in and out of the water, for sports related to water, for creating positive attitude towards the collective and for the development of positive personality traits in children. Third chapter „Organization of work“ is about places where it is possible to organize swimming lessons and about conditions of work during the lessons. In fourth chapter „Methods of work“ are listed and explained methods which are used by swimming teachers during the lessons, how should swimming lessons look like, how long should it last and tools that helps children to overcome certain exercises easier and faster. „Training of non-swimmers“ is the title of sixth chapter in which is described the program that is recommended for working with preschool children and the exercises it consists of. In the last chapter „Water games for preschool children“ are listed games which can be implemented in swimming lessons, which makes it easier for children to adapt to the new enviroment and they create a sense of security in water.
