Abstract Uvod: Palijativna skrb je aktivna, ukupna skrb za pacijenta čija bolest ne reagira na uobičajene
postupke liječenja. Palijativna skrb je interdisciplinarna u svom pristupu te svojim djelokrugom
obuhvaća pacijenta, obitelj i zajednicu. Prioritet je kvaliteta života, a ne njegovo trajanje.
Cilj istraživanja: Utvrditi i usporediti razinu znanja o osnovama palijativne skrbi 3. i 5. razreda
Medicinske škole Karlovac i Škole za medicinske sestre Vinogradska te medicinskih sestara/
tehničara Opće bolnice Karlovac i Kliničkog bolničkog centra Sestre Milosrdnice.
Ispitanici i metode: Deskriptivno multicentrično istraživanje je provedeno od veljače 2018.
godine do svibnja 2018. godine u KBC Sestre milosrdnice na Klinici za kirurgiju, internu,
kirurgiju glave i vrata, psihijatriju, neurologiju i Zavodu za anesteziologiju, intenzivno liječenje i
liječenje boli te u Općoj bolnici Karlovac na Odjelima kirurgije, interne, psihijatrije, neurologije i
infektologije. Također se istraživanje provodilo u 3. i 5. razredima Škole za medicinske sestre
Vinogradska i Medicinske škole Karlovac.
Rezultati: Značajna razlika pronađena je na razinama srednje i više stručne spreme te srednje i
visoke stručne spreme. Razlika između KBC Sestre milosrdnice i Opće bolnice Karlovac nije se
pokazala značajnom. Značajna razlika je pronađena između bolnica i škola , te između 3. i 5.
razreda.
Zaključak: Razina znanja medicinskih sestara/ tehničara o palijativnoj skrbi je veća što je veće
obrazovanje. U srednjim medicinskim školama znanje o palijativnoj skrbi je niže nego li kod
sudionika zaposlenih u bolnicama, a u trećim razredima su niži rezultati nego li u petim
razredima što prati prethodno pronađenu situaciju obzirom na obrazovanje. Duljina radnog
staža nije utjecala na točnost rješavanja upitnika.
Abstract (english) Introduction: Palliative care is an active, total care for patient whose illness doesn't respond to
usual treatment procedurs. Palliative care is interdisciplinary and covers the patient, family and
the community. The priority of palliative care is quality of life, not life expectancy.
Research objective: To determinate and compare the level of knowledge about the basic of
palliative care in 3rd and 5th grades of the School for nurses in Karlovac and School for nurses
"Vinogradska" and nurses in General hospital centre "The sisters of Mercy" and nurses in
General hospital in Karlovac.
Respondents and methods: Descriptive cross – sectional multicenter researc was condusted
from February 2018. to May 2018. in Clinical hospital centre "The sisers of Mercy"at the Surgery
clinic, Head and neck surgery, Department of anesthesiology intensive medicine and pain
treatment, Internal clinic, Psychiatry clinic and Neurology clinic and in General hospital in
Karlovac in the Departments of surgery, internal medicine, psychiatry, neurology and
infectology. The survey was also conducted at 3rd an 5th grades in School for nurses in Karlovac
and "Vinogradska".
Results: A significant difference was found at the levels of secondary and higher education and
secondary and university degress. The difference between Clinical and General hospital is not
significant. A significant difference was found between hospitals and schools and between 3rd
and 5th grades.
Conclusion: Nurses with higher education have better knowledge of palliative care. In
secondary medical schools, knowledge of palliative care is lower than that of hospitall staff
participans, and in third grades the results are lower than in fifth grades, which follows the
previously found situation with regard to education. The lenght of the work path didn't affect
the accuracy of the questionnaire solution.
