Abstract Središnja tema ovog diplomskog rada je socijalno poduzetništvo, model koji inkorporirajući socijalnu i ekonomsku komponentu, stvara socijalnu vrijednost i nadilazi logiku kapitalizma.
Abstract (english) This graduate thesis focuses on social entrepreneurship, a model that incorporates a social and economic component, creates social value and goes beyond the logic of capitalism. The first part of this thesis deals with the elaboration of concepts and conceptualization of the studied phenomenon, with emphasis on the beginnings, development and affirmation of this concept in the world, but with special reference to Croatian reality. Social entrepreneurship and the theory of structuring, social capital and social movement are brought into focus, with an emphasis on the potential of social entrepreneurship in mobilizing the employment of marginalized groups. The second part of the paper is based on qualitative research and interpretation of the results. In the sample, 6 interviewees were recruited by the snowball technique and data collection took place in the period from November 2019 to January 2020. With the analysis of abstracted data it was revealed that social entrepreneurship is still not recognized enough and that the Strategy for the Development of Social Entrepreneurship in the Republic of Croatia for the period from 2015 to 2020 had a number of omissions that influenced the achievement of the defined goals. The participants emphasized that social entrepreneurship has the potential to eliminate social problems, especially unemployment, with the premise that is too ambitious to consider social entrepreneurship as universal cure for all social challenges. It has been found that, given similar values, the Catholic Church can potentially influence the promotion of social entrepreneurship as a valid instrument in fostering positive social changes. This research brought the unique definition of social entrepreneurship based on the participant's associations, which, with the new light brought by the perspective of formal and informal actors to this phenomenon, is one of the main contributions of the research. With all the obstacles on the way of the development of social entrepreneurship, it has been found that through this phenomenon many social challenges can be reduced, although there is still room for huge improvement of this phenomenon in institutional, legal, social, and media sense.
