Abstract
Rak dojke najčešća je vrsta raka dijagnosticirana kod žena u Hrvatskoj, ali i najčešća dijagnoza raka koju dobivaju žene u svijetu. Suočavanje i život s rakom dojke može imati razne posljedice na tjelesno, ali i na mentalno zdravlje. Kod žena se mogu razviti i određeni simptomi mentalnih poremećaja, a najčešći su simptomi depresije. U istraživanjima se pokazalo se da je to kako će se osoba prilagoditi na dijagnozu raka više povezano s psihoscijalnim nego s kliničkim čimbenicima. Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je ispitati prediktivni doprinos dobi, socioekonomskog statusa, socijalne podrške, potreba pacijentica i usamljenosti depresivnosti kod žena oboljelih od raka dojke. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 86 žena s rakom dojke, kojima je od dijagnoze prošlo do 15 godina, a prosječno vrijeme proteklo od dijagnoze je 4 godine. Kako bi se ispitala depresivnost kod žena oboljelih od raka dojke te čimbenici koji na nju utječu, korišteno je nekoliko mjernih instrumenata: Multidimenzionalna skala percipirane socijalne podrške, Upitnik evaluacije potreba, Skala depresivnosti, anksioznosti i stresa, Kratka verzija UCLA skale usamljenosti te Upitnik općih podataka. Dobiveni rezultati pokazali su da je depresivnost značajno povezana sa socijalnom podrškom, potrebama i usamljenosti. Manje socijalne podrške, manje zadovoljenih potreba i viša usamljenost bili su povezani s višim razinama depresivnosti. Hijerarhijskom regresijskom analizom utvrđeno je da jedino usamljenost predviđa depresivnost, pri tome viša usamljenost predviđa višu depresivnost kod žena oboljelih od raka dojke. Dobiveni rezultati upućuju na važnost osnaživanja socijalne podrške, ali i smanjivanja usamljenosti kod žena oboljelih od raka dojke te na jasnije informiranje pacijentica o njihovoj bolesti i liječenju.
Abstract (english)
Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer diagnosed in women in Croatia, but also the most common cancer diagnosis received by women in the world. Facing and living with breast cancer can have various consequences on physical and mental health. Women may also develop certain symptoms of mental disorders, among which one of the most common are symptoms of depression. Research has shown that how a person will adapt to cancer is more related to psychosocial than clinical factors. The aim of this research was to examine the predictive contribution of age, socioeconomic status, social support, patient needs and loneliness to depression in women with breast cancer. In this research participated 86 women with breast cancer, up to 15 years after diagnosis, and the average time since diagnosis is 4 years. In order to examine depression in women with breast cancer and the assosiated factors, several instruments were used: Multidimensional Scale od Percieved Social Support, Needs Evaluation Questionnaire, Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale, the Short Version of the UCLA Loneliness Scale and the General Data Questionnaire. The results showed that depression is significantly correlated with social support, needs and loneliness. Less social support, less met needs and higher loneliness were associated with higher levels of depression. Hierarchical regression analysis revealed that only loneliness predicts depression, while higher loneliness predicts higher depression in women with breast cancer. The results point to the importance of improving social support but also reducing loneliness in women with breast cancer and better informing on their disease and treatment.
