Abstract Ekonomski razvoj usko je vezan uz poduzetništvo i inovacije te upravo zbog toga su privatna poduzeća jedan od glavnih pokretača gospodarstva. Otvaranjem radnih mjesta, zapošljavanjem ljudi, iskorištavanjem njihovih znanja i vještina za stvaranje inovativnih proizvoda i usluga, utječe se samo na nacionalno gospodarstvo nego i na svjetsko. Poduzetništvo je način kreiranja nove vrijednosti kojom se ostvaruje profit i pruža zadovoljstvo pojedincu. Cilj svakog poduzetnika je utjecati pozitivno na okolinu u kojoj djeluje i stvarati poduzetničko društvo koje karakterizira porast proizvodnje, porast prihoda i profita, zaposlenosti, stvaranje inovativnih proizvoda i usluga kojima će se konkurirati na nacionalnoj i svjetskoj razini. Danas je sve to moguće uz dostupnost interneta, pa je umrežavanje i virtualno poslovanje dostupno svima i olakšava proces pružanja usluge i informacija. Malo i srednje poduzetništvo omogućuje otvaranje radnih mjesta, razvija osobne potencijale, razvija opće društvene interese, potiče ekonomski rast i razvoj zemlje. Također,lakše se prilagođavaju promjenama u okolini i brže reagiraju na njih. Kada govorimo o poduzetništvu, potrebno je posebnu pozornost posvetiti poduzetničkoj okolini koju možemo podjeliti na: političku, ekonomsku, kulturnu, tehnološku i pravnu. Sve navedene okolineimaju utjecaj na poduzetnika i njegovo poslovanje te konkurentnost na tržištu. Na temelju GEM istraživanja saznat ćemo kakva je pozicija Hrvatske u odnosu na ostale zemlje svijeta i EU, koje su regije u Hrvatskoj poduzetnički aktivne, kakva je aktivnost prema spolu i rodu, kakvo je obrazovanje, zaposlenost, vladine politike i programi, sufinanciranje države i sl.
Abstract (english) Economic development is closely linked to entrepreneurship and innovation, which is why private enterprises are one of the main drivers of the economy. Creating jobs, hiring people, harnessing their knowledge and skills to create innovative products and services, affects not only the national economy but also the world. Entrepreneurship is a way of creating new value that is profitable and satisfying to the individual. The goal of every entrepreneur is to positively influence the environment in which operates and create an entrepreneurial society characterized by an increase in production, increase in income and profit, employment, creation of innovative products and services that will compete at the national and world level. Today, all this is possible with the availability of the Internet, so networking and virtual business are accessible to everyone and make the process of providing service and information easier. SMEs enable job creation, develop personal potential, develop general social interests, stimulate economic growth and development of the country. They are also easier to adapt to and respond to changes in the environment. When it comes to entrepreneurship, special attention must be paid to the entrepreneurial environment, which can be divided into: political, economic, cultural, technological and legal. All of these environments have an impact on the entrepreneur and their business and their competitiveness in the market. Based on the GEM research we will find out what is the position of Croatia in relation to other countries of the world and the EU, what regions in Croatia are entrepreneurially active, what is the activity by gender and gender, what is education, employment, government policies and programs, state co-financing, etc.
