The simplest definition of a loan refers to concluding a contract with a credit institution to receive a certain loan that must be repaid in a certain time. The client must return the borrowed money with interest at the agreed time. Loans are great support when starting business activities, but also during production. The subject of the research is short-term lending on the example of OTP banka d.d. The aim of this paper is to present and describe the offer of short-term loans of OTP banka d.d. It was considered the short-term lending of small, medium and large entrepreneurs, craftsmen and citizens. By analyzing the available information, the classification of short-term loans that OTP banka d.d. has in its portfolio was performed. It turned out that the bank offers a larger number of short-term loans to small businesses and craftsmen. Regardless of the beneficiaries, the bank must evaluate the creditworthiness of the client to ensure the repayment of the loan under the contract.
