Abstract Hotelijerstvo predstavlja temelj globalnog ugostiteljskog sektora, igra ključnu ulogu u smještaju putnika, pružanju nezaboravnih iskustava gostima i značajno pridonosi gospodarstvu bezbrojnih svjetskih destinacija. Posljednjih je godina hotelijerstvo prošlo kroz duboke transformacije potaknute napretkom u tehnologiji, razvojem preferencija potrošača, promjenom tržišne dinamike i sve većom konkurenciju.

Hoteli, kao predstavnici hotelijerstva, ispunjavaju nekoliko ključnih funkcija unutar ugostiteljstva. To uključuje pružanje smještaja, usluge hrane i pića, prostore za događaje i sastanke, rekreacijske sadržaje i često djeluje kao informacijsko središte za putnike. Restorani, kao predstavnici restoraterstva, također služe bitnim funkcijama unutar ugostiteljstva, djelujući kao kulinarska središta koja pružaju prehranu, udobnost i kulturološko spajanje putnika i lokalnog stanovništva.

Abstract (english) The hotel industry represents the foundation of the global hospitality industry, plays a pivotal role in accommodating travellers, providing unforgettable experiences to guests and significantly contributes to the economy of countless world destinations. In recent years, the hotel industry has gone through deep transformations driven by advances in technology, the development of consumer preferences, changing market dynamics and increasing competition.

... More hotels within the hospitality industry, it is essential to recognize the different components that make up this sector. In addition to hotels, the industry includes restaurants, event venues, cruise lines, travel agencies and more, all focused together on improving the travel and leisure experience of travellers.
Hotels, as representatives of the hotel industry, fulfil several key functions within the hospitality industry. These include providing accommodation, food and beverage services, event and meeting facilities, recreational facilities and it often acts as an information hub for travellers. Restaurants, as representatives of restaurant industry, also serve essential functions within the hospitality industry, acting as culinary centres that provide nutrition, comfort and cultural fusion of travellers and local residents. In addition to dining, they often host events, celebrations, and community gatherings.
How can a business link between, for example, the above-mentioned hotels and restaurants be created? Of course, through vertical business integration.
