Abstract Europska unija je među vodećim gospodarstvima svijeta.
Abstract (english) The European Union is among the leading economies of the world. Given the diversity of individual members, there is a disruption of expert opinions regarding the potential advantages and disadvantages of membership. Croatia is a developing transitional country that has the need, through expert and detailed leadership, to consider all the potential negative consequences that can be reflected by entering into further integration by entering the eurozone and protecting such risks. Numerous counterparts believe it has more benefits than cost by further integration and acceptance of the euro. The political and economic trilemas are situations where three of the three goals can not be achieved, but only two, which is a challenge for each country.
Eurosceptics are largely part of the population that may have a dose of distrust towards the European Union as an institution. Precisely because of the existence of such types of citizen institutions are those that need to be explained to the public in order to identify all the existing situations and upcoming policies pertaining to the member state. Croatia is a country that, before joining the monetary union, and in trying to accept the common currency of the euro. Compared to Slovakia and Slovenia, the CNB will have to attract a large number of citizens who are still against the introduction of the euro for a variety of reasons, driven by fears of rising prices, while in the above mentioned countries there has been support since the beginning. The survey of citizens of the Republic of Croatia gave results from which it is apparent that the public does not support the introduction of the euro, but citizens need to be better informed and educated about the potential benefits of the common currency. The economic developments of Slovakia and Slovenia were also analyzed, and the fact is that in the short term many members had problems with the economy, but after a while they felt the many advantages of accepting the euro. It should also be borne in mind that no country is equal, does not have the same resources or the same indicators, but it is certain that the reforms are the foundation of any economy for its growth and development regardless of the currency it uses.
