The selfie is not insignificant, ubiquitous and generally accepted phenomenon that permeates all areas of computer networks, particularly marked social networks. This paper elaborates the concept and definition of the self, its history, economic, psychological and cultural impact on modern society. In short through several chapters describe the phenomenon selfie, to the origin of the word selfie this type eponymous phenomenon. After defining the term, through a brief history describes the onset of self-portrait or the self-image. In addition to defining basic terms, special attention will be devoted to the psychological and cultural impact of modern society through social networks. Thus the aim of this paper is to present the self that in recent years so popular that it can be classified into a modern media image as a generally accepted phenomenon. The practical part conducted through a questionnaire survey was conducted on the habits of creating selfies and it can include people of all ages. Time is spent researching and analyzing the popularity and how to create selfie in today's modern society.
