Abstract (english) Mental disorder is the term used to mark specific types of psychopathology and is defined as a clinically significant behavioral or psychological syndrome or pattern of behavior that is associated with the present suffering and the inability or with an increased risk of experiencing death, pain, disability or with significant loss of freedom. Mental disorders in children and adolescents may be affected in different ways, eg. as physical symptoms and diseases, disorders of elimination, speech disorders and eating disorders of behavior and mood, learning disabilities and adjustments, eating disorders, hyperactivity and sleep disorders, thus cooperation between the family doctors, school doctors, and specialists for primary and secondary prevention of addiction, psychiatrists, kindergartens and schools with their assistants, some government institutions and local communities is very important. People with mental disorders need support throughout their lives, so the nursing care is applied to all age groups. Patience, tolerance, humanity and responsibility are the most important characteristics of nurses / technicians dealing with children with mental disorders. It should create an environment in which there is a pleasant and warm atmosphere, and the relationship with the patient should be competent and professional. Due to the increase in the number of children who require psychological support, the society should be more sensitive to this category of patients and help in every possible way in the secondary, and even more in primary care.
