Abstract Celijakija ili glutenska enteropatija je bolest s tisuću lica. Ona je kronična bolest tankog crijeva uzrokovana glutenom koji se nalazi u sastavu žitarica kao što su ječam, pšenica, raž i zob. Bolest je karakterizirana poremećenim imunosnim odgovorom, u genski predisponiranih osoba, s posljedičnim oštećenjem sluznice tankog crijeva i malapsorpcijom. Bolest se može očitovati u bilo kojoj životnoj dobi, a ako se ne liječi može doći do težih oštećenja. Važno je rano dijagnosticiranje celijakije, prije nego se gluten izbaci iz prehrane. Prvi korak u identifikaciji potencijalnih bolesnika su serološki testovi, a standard koji služi za potvrđivanje dijagnoze je biopsija tankog crijeva. Liječenje celijakije se provodi doživotnom bezglutenskom dijetom. Edukacija bolesnika i znanje o toj bolesti ključni su za uspješno liječenje. Analiza prikupljenih podataka pokazala je da je šira populacija informirana o osnovnim informacijama vezanih za celijakiju. Većina zna što je celijakija, koje se namirnice smiju, a koje ne smiju konzumirati, koji se simptomi javljaju, kao i sastojak koji smeta oboljelima, a to je gluten. Bolest je važno rano dijagnosticirati kako ne bi došlo do težeg oštećenja organizma. Celijakija povećava troškove života, a time smanjuje kvalitetu života. Nakon obrade prikupljenih podataka ustanovljeno je kako bi u javnim ustanovama trebalo veću pažnju posvetiti edukaciji i informiranosti šire javnosti o celijakiji.
Abstract (english) Celiac disease or celiac disease with a thousand faces. It is a chronic disease of the small intestine caused by gluten, which is a part of grains such as barley, wheat, rye and oats. The disease is characterized by a disturbed immune response in genetically predisposed people, with consequent damage to the lining of the small intestine and malabsorption. The disease can manifest itself at any age, but if left untreated can lead to serious injury. It is important early diagnosis of celiac disease, before the gluten out of the diet. The first step in identifying potential patients are serological tests, a standard that is used to confirm a diagnosis of the biopsy of the small intestine. The treatment for celiac disease is a lifelong gluten-free diet is carried out. Patient Education and knowledge about the disease are crucial for successful treatment. Analysis of the data revealed that the general population is informed about basic information related to celiac disease. Most known as celiac disease, which are not foods but which must not be consumed, that the onset of symptoms, as well as those suffering disturbing element, and that the gluten. The disease is diagnosed early important to avoid severe damage to the organism. Celiac disease increases the cost of living, and thus reduces the quality of life. After processing the collected data was found to be in public institutions should pay more attention to educating and informing the general public about celiac disease.
