Nedostatkom informiranja potrošača raste i gomilanje otpada.
Abstract (english) | Waste is becoming an increasingly big problem in the area of environmental protection in the world, as well as in Croatia. Environmental protection should be an integral part of lifestyle, and not an obligation. Thus, children should be educated from an early age about the fact that environmental protection, including waste, is something we have to take care of.
The amount of packaging waste is growing continuously and has a harmful effect on the environment. Since consumers are not informed enough, accumulation of waste is increasing. To minimize the negative effect on the environment, the solution could be found in the design of new and acceptable packaging and the use of innovative solutions and new materials.
An important role in determining the sustainability, that is the lifetime, belongs to the construction and the design and of a package. What keeps a product high-quality and fresh is the right choice of material and packing technology. Along with traditional materials, such as wood, paper, cardboard, metal, glass, laminate and plastic, what should be taken into cinsideration is science and new materials which offer new possibilities in packing and designing packaging. By means of designing new packaging, consumers' awareness should be raised about choosing ecologically acceptable solutions, recycling and, eventually, taking care of the environment and better tomorrow. |
