Abstract Današnji način života sa sobom nosi brojne cerebrovaskularne bolesti koje predstavljaju veliki medicinski i javno zdravstveni problem.
Medicinska sestra zauzima veliku ulogu u prevenciji, liječenju i rehabilitaciji osoba s moždanim udarom. Ona je ravnopravni član multidisciplinarnog tima. Stalnim napredovanjem i edukacijom medicinska sestra osigurava profesionalnost i kompetenciju kod liječenja bolesnika s moždanim udarom.
Abstract (english) Today's lifestyle carries numerous cerebrovascular diseases that represent a major medical and public health problem. The stroke is also located in the cerebrovascular disease group. It is one of the leading causes of disability and death in Croatia which represents death of brain tissue caused by interruption of bloodstream and insufficient oxygen supply to the brain. After stroke, there are two types of symptoms, both motor and non-motor. Rehabilitation and health care are directed to motor symptoms and despite being part of the clinical picture, non-motor symptoms are not paid due attention. The conducted research observes the presence of non-motor symptoms at patients suffering from a stroke. The research is conducted in the neurological departments of the County Hospital of Čakovec and of the General Hospital of Varaždin. The study included patients diagnosed with CVI (cerebrovascular insult), i.e. stroke and it investigated a total of 11 non-motoric symptoms (vision, sleep, fatigue, pain, dizziness, aphasia, alexia, abalactia, agnosis, sensory outcomes and cognitive disorders). The nurse plays a major role in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of stroke patients. She Moždani udar je odumiranje moždanog tkiva nastalo uslijed prekida krvotoka i nedostatne opskrbe mozga kisikom. is an equal member of a multidisciplinary team. The nurse ensures, with continuous advancement and education, professionalism and competence in treating stroke patients.
